New Belgium to Hold Sour Beer Symposium at Stubbs

IMG_4309New Belgium Brewing Company’s Wood Cellar Team will be touching down in Austin this week to share some sour brews and sweet knowledge with interested craft beer fanatics.

The event, dubbed Sour Beer Symposium and Blending Workshop, is being held at Stubbs Thursday, Aug. 21, and will be hosted by Sensory Specialist/ Blender (and Bitch Beer hero) Lauren Salazar, as well as Cellar Meister Eric Salazar.

The workshop promises to provide attendees with a look at New Belgium’s history, as well as some in-depth knowledge of sour beers and blending. The curriculum will be capped off with a hands-on blending exercise, giving folks the opportunity to blend their own brews to taste using single oak barrel aged base beers straight from New Belgium’s cellar.

The evening will be broken into two sessions, one from 5pm to 7pm, and a second from 8pm to 10pm. Tickets for each are available via Front Gate Tickets at $50 a pop, which includes beer and food pairings.
