Hops & Grain Announces Greenhouse Recipe Contest Winner
The Hops & Grain Open Greenhouse Recipe Contest has come to a close, and a winner has been crowned.
That winner is Brent Jones, who submitted the idea for a Texas Honey IPA.
As his prize, Jones will get to join Hops & Grain head brewer Josh Hare for a Texas Honey IPA brew day on the brewery’s Greenhouse pilot system. The beer will then be available in the H&G taproom some time in September.
For the contest, Hops & Grain had fans send in potential recipe ideas via email. The guys then narrowed it down to their four favorites and put up a poll on Facebook to let the people decide. Jones’ recipe beat out the other three finalists Belgian Black IPA with Blood Oranges, Fredericksburg Peach Ale with Mint and Hill Country Honey Vanilla Porter. Too bad they can’t brew them all, because those all sound like winners in our book.
This is the second time Hops & Grain has held an open Greenhouse Recipe Contest. The first competition, held in late 2012, spawned the unforgettably delicious Horchata Milkstout.
