The Love Beer Fundraiser, which was hosted by Austin non-profit the Generalists, offered attendees samples of local beer in the name of benefiting local charities Meals on Wheels and More, Treefolks and HAAM.
Though some last minute squawking from the TABC led to the exclusion of many of the brewpubs scheduled to attend (bummer) the festival organizers, brewers and volunteers pushed through to still give attendees the best experience possible.
Some of Austin’s most highly sought-after beers were flowing at the event, including the illustrious (512) Whiskey Barrel Aged Double Pecan Porter, and the 2013 festival debut of Austin Beerworks’ Einhorn.
The event’s intimate nature allowed attendees to sample freely, and interact with the brewers without the fear of holding up lines.
“I’m continually impressed by the growing Austin beer culture, and it’s always nice to meet the people behind the beverages I often enjoy,” attendee Jessica Deahl said.
Although the event has passed, The Generalists are still collecting donations for these charities.
