Hops & Grain Unsuspectingly Sponsoring Sketch Comedy Show
Local brewery Hops & Grain might have an eye-catching logo, a great website and bold packaging, but a pair of Austin sketch comics (who just so happen to have real experience in the world of advertising) think they have some creative ideas to boost the brewery’s profile.
The brewery will be the newest “client” for UNSUSPECTINGLY SPONSORED BY, a sketch group who have already made a reputation for themselves pitching faux-creative ideas for P. Terry’s Burger Stand, and for everyone’s favorites–Drone Strikes…? (that one came as a suggestion to the group during the 24 hour sketch comedy challenge…which they just so happen to have won.)
The Hops & Grain event, which will be held this Sunday, May 26 at Spiderhouse Ballroom, is part of Austin Sketch Fest, which wraps up that day.
Hops & Grain’s Josh Hare and Bob Galligan will be onstage with the UNSUSPECTINGLY SPONSORED BY crew to hear their silly brilliant advertising ideas, which will come in a variety of forms, including live sketch comedy, improvisation and videos. They call it “non-consensual advertising.”
The event kicks off at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased here. Each ticket holder gets a free beer from Hops & Grain.
