Beer Accessories: 5 Things We Didn’t Know We Needed

After nearly a year of hard hitting blogging, the ladies of Bitch Beer have amassed a respectable collection of swag: bottle openers, koozies and of course, the many pint glasses that have displaced all the other drinking glasses in our kitchens.

But they are nothing compared to what the internet has to offer.

Below is a list of products that really do exist, including the ones that probably shouldn’t.

Go Plate

The Go Plate

For all the times you’ve had to put your beer down to eat chips, KegWorks has made the Go Plate, a plate that fits easily around the neck of your beer bottle or red Solo cup, depending on the occasion.

While we’re not really fans of the male-centric artwork, the thought of never losing a beer more than makes up for it. Plus, a comeback for 1990’s tech gadgets?!

I only wish I had found this case before being coerced  into buying my “indestructable” Otter Box Case at the AT&T Store. Zazzle has hundreds of cases to suit your drunk texting needs.

Beer Jug Jokki Hour Foam Maker

While I’m not exactly sure how creating more foam is supposed to be good, I won’t hide the fact that I definitely want to use one of these. According to the product website, in Japan, “a frothy head is absolutely expected as a vital part of a beer’s refreshing taste.” And if that cultural tidbit isn’t enough to convince you, watch the YouTube video and prepare to be amazed.

The Beercade Machine

I don’t want to offend any of you ladies that play video games, but I don’t get them. The shooting, the car stealing, the warcrafting: what’s the point? I do however enjoy a good ol’ fashioned arcade game, especially when paired with a victory beer. Luckily for me, the Beercade machine is a perfect marriage of the two. The combat-style game, The Last Barfighter,  is activated by cups instead of quarters and gives a sample of  beer to the winner. For now, there is only one machine, owned by Big Boss Brewing in Raleigh, NC, but one can only hope that one day it will reach Texas. And if the game is anything like Mortal Kombat in the early 90’s, I will FINISH that beer.

  1. Japan does love a foamy head. The craft beer scene has been taking off in recent years, but it’s almost impossible to get a craft beer in a restaurant or bar that isn’t a craft beer bar or a brewpub. Asahi, Sapporo, and Kirin are all basically Bud/Miller clones, but man, when you do get a beer like Minoh or Baird or Shiga Kogen, it’s like heaven.
