Austin Oktoberfest Events 2012

Grab your lederhosen, break out your literlager and brush up on your oompah dance moves, it’s time for Oktoberfest celebrations.

Sept. 22-Oct.7

From polka to special tappings, even a fried pickle eating contest, the folks at Bangers are going all out for their first Oktoberfest. Check out the event flyer below for information:


Sept. 30

If you’re an excellent multi-tasker and would like to get your weekly grocery shopping done whilst celebrating Oktoberfest, look no further than the Hope Farmers Market’s Oktoberfest 2012. The event will feature “FREE LOCAL BEER from Hops & Grain and Adelbert’s Breweries! (Kegs tapped at noon, bring your own glass or mason jar for a free brew) Sausage specials at The Seedling Truck! Featuring Salt & Time sausages and other local ingredients, Purple Knödel cooking demonstration and tasting at the HOPE Sample Station, Live Music! Featuring Matthew Fagan and Austin Heat, Plenty of sausage to go around from Salt & Time and Countryside Farm… and more vendor specials to be announced.”


Oct. 1

Meanwhile, on the East Side, the Volstead Lounge will be hosting an Oktoberfest-themed “Meat and Greet” featuring German beer specials and cocktails, plus, free gourmet sausage. Check out the flyer below for details:


Oct. 5-7

We wouldn’t expect anything less than the biggest Oktoberfest celebration in the Texas hill country from the folks in Fredericksburg. While there is sure to be plenty of beer, the celebration is also very family friendly. Expect “three stages of continuous oompah music, art & crafts, Children’s fun area ~ Kinder Park, a German Bier Tent, and Oktoberfest Vineyard area, OkTUBAfest, Chicken Dance Around the Square, Domino Tournament, delicious food and lots of cold drinks.” More information on the official Fredericksburg Oktoberfest website.

Black Sheep Lodge
Oct. 19

The Black Sheep Lodge knows how to Oktoberfest! Their 4th Annual party will take place on Friday, October 19th and feature all of these wondrous things:
Food Specials: Grilled Brats & jumbo pretzels w/ homemade beer mustard
Beer Specials: Special Prices on an expanded list of Oktoberfest beers from around the world.
Hammerschlagen  and Beer Stein Holding Contests
Fun: Polka Music, Commemorative Pint Glasses, Lederhosen and more!



Easy Tiger will be celebrating Oktoberfest with Real Ale’s Erik Ogershok. He’ll be bringing out special casks of Imperium, 4-Squared, Signature Hop Pale Ale, Sisyphus, Russian Imperial Stout and Dry Hopped Porter, along with a keg of Black Quad. More details to come!


Oct. 27

Rogness Brewing will be taking the best bits of two fall holidays and cramming them together to create one helluva brewery tour. That’s right, Rogness + Halloween + Oktoberfest = Rogtoberween Fest. The event will be held during the brewery’s normal Saturday tour/ tasting hours from 11-3, and will include free bratwurst, an epic Oktoberfest playlist to set the mood, and a costume contest. Best costume will win a Rogness merch package. It’s safe to say they’ll also have plenty of Rogtoberfest pouring in the tasting room! Ticket info to come soon.


Oct. 28

For an Oktoberfest that’s uniquely Austin, board the Bats & Beers Oktoberfest cruise on Town Lake and enjoy brews from Guadalupe Brewing Co. and food from Bangers Sausage House. Tickets are not yet on sale, but check out the flyer below for details:


Oct 27-28

The Austin brewpub will be continuing their annual Oktoberfest celebrations with “special German brews, classic German food, German music and plenty of fun for the whole family.”
This year’s official event/ entertainment lineup has not been released yet, check out the NXNW website for updates.
