Happy Belgian Beer Week, Austin

Adelbert’s Brewery is celebrating Belgian Beer Week with a brewery tour and samplings of their Belgian style beer.

Let’s raise our glasses to Belgium! From July 16 to July 21, bars across the city and the world will be celebrating the independence of Belgium by drinking up the country’s signature beer. To help you make the most of this exciting week, we’ve collected some of the best events going on around town.

Monday, July 16 at The Ginger Man: You can never go wrong with The Ginger Man’s Monday night Pint Night, and this week Blanche de Bruxelles from Brasserie Lefebvre is the Belgian beer of choice. When you buy the pint, the Blanche de Bruxelles glass is free! And while you’re there, be sure to explore The Ginger Man’s wide array of other Belgian brews.

Tuesday, July 17 at Whip In: In honor of Belgian Beer Week, Whip In is giving Austin’s own Independence Brewing Co. their very own day! You’ll get the chance to taste some of Independence’s famed Belgian style beers, as well as meet the brains behind it all, Michael Waters.

Wednesday, July 18 at Easy Tiger: If you want to go all out for Belgian Beer Week, Easy Tiger is the place to go. The bar will be serving on draft Triple d’Anvers de Koninck, Ommegang Gnomegang Blonde Ale and Ommegang Belgian Independence Day Tripel, which Ommegang created specifically for this week. And to top it all off, you’ll get an awesome glass commemorating Belgium’s Independence Day.

Thursday, July 19 at Flying Saucer: Starting at 7 p.m., the Flying Saucer in Austin is celebrating Belgian Beer Week by offering beer from a true authentic Belgium brewery, Brewery De Koninck. The brewery has been around since 1833, and their signature brew, De Koninck is highly respected worldwide. When you stop by Flying Saucer this Thursday, you’ll also get a fancy Brewery De Koninck glass to drink your Belgian brew out of.

Friday, July 20 at Adelbert’s Brewery: To get the best Belgian experience, you need to visit Adelbert’s Brewery in north Austin. Adelbert’s exclusively brews Belgian style beers, and with a wide variety of taste and strength, everyone will be able to find a favorite. This Friday the brewery is hosting a tasting tour for $10 that includes an Adelbert’s glass and three samples of their beer.

Saturday, July 21 at Flying Saucer: If you can’t make it out to Easy Tiger to get a taste of Ommegang’s Belgium Independence Day Tripel, you better clear your Saturday and head to the Flying Saucer. According to Ommegang’s website, the beer is only available this month, and lucky for us The Flying Saucer is one of the other few bars in Austin to get a batch. Don’t miss your chance to savor this rare brew before it’s gone.
